Summer begins in March and ends in May. The heat is oppressive especially in the cities and coastal areas where temperatures can go up to 40 °C easily. However, this is the best time to travel to hill stations as the weather is pleasant, breezy and enjoyable. Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yelagiri are some of the hill stations where people head to beat the heat.
oct - FEB
Tamil Nadu doesn’t really have a cold winter. Although it extends from October till February, there are intermittent rains in November and December. But the best time to visit Tamil Nadu is during the winter months, especially for sightseeing and exploring the cities. The beaches are lovely, and the water is not too cold. There are also several cultural events happening at this time in cities like Chennai, which makes it all the more attractive to visit.
